Labor Day Travel Safety
- Always lock your car doors when you stop, even if you are just running into the rest stop bathroom for a minute.
- Only stop in well-lit areas where there are many other people.
- Labor Day travel is common, so you will run into a lot more traffic than normal. Remember not to tailgate other drivers or road rage if someone cuts you off.
- Always stop and rest if you feel tired.
- Be courteous and careful. As with any holiday, be on the lookout for drunk drivers over Labor Day.
- Stop at parks along the way during your Labor Day travel. You and your kids can stretch your legs and you can eat your sandwiches at an available picnic table. If you need to make an unscheduled bathroom break, try to avoid gas stations.
